We have ran into several problems with saving an RCP, and losing the majority of the point cloud. I believe I've found the problem. When we are cleaning an RCP, we use the 'clip outside' tool. If you happen to save while the point cloud is clipped, the rest of the RCP is unrecoverable when you open it back up.
