Recap Pro Crash during Registration

I have a small project in Recap on the Ipad , only 20 scans.

During a manual registration Recap crashed & now the project will not open.

Recap starts fine but as soon as you open the project is crashes.

Obviously Recap is wrapped up in the simplicity of the Ipad user interface , what are my options to recover / fix the project ?

Cheers

Hi @gavfoster,

Thank you for participating in our Community! I was wondering what version of iOS you have on iPAD Pro? Make sure you are using latest version of ReCap Pro mobile application. Also, make sure you have installed latest version of firmware from Leica. You can download latest version of firmware from this link.

I would try above mention suggestions and then try registering this project again. Let me know if this helps.

Thank you and have a great day!

Thanks for getting back to me on this one.

Ipad is on IOS 11.2.1

BLK is on V 1.1.6

I don't want to re register the data as although this a very small project of only 20 scans if it were a project of 200 scans i would like to recover the 199 scans that are working and add the final scan again.

What are my options for recovering the data / work i have already done ?

Thanks again

Hi @gavfoster,

Can you try deleting ReCap App from the iPAD Pro and reinstall from App store again. When you delete the app you will loose data that was transferred so make sure these data are available on BLK360 scanners before you delete app.

If you have data on BLK360 then delete app, re-install from App store then download these project from BLK360 again.

Let me know if this works.

Thank you and have a great day!

Thank you again for continuing to look at this but once again this solution relies on reloading the data from the BLK and redoing and manual registration work i have done.

That's not an acceptable first hit solution. Is there a way to recover the data / work that i have already done on the Ipad in the field ?

Re importing data and re registering should be a last resort or is that the only option available doe to the simplistic work flow / functionality of the Ipad software.

I'm guessing it is but i would like to hear it from an official source.

Cheers

Gav

Hi @gavfoster,

I am so sorry to hear that but suggestions that I provided in my previous post is troubleshooting steps that we take in this type of behavior. I am sorry but yet you may have to do registration again. I would suggest to try uploading scans to ReCap Desktop application and try registering there. Let me know if this helps.

Thank you and have a great day!

Thanks again for following up on this. I will accept your solution as this will close the thread but the solution is not a solution is it ?

Recap crashed , the database has become corrupt so you have to start again importing scans and re registering data is all that has been suggested.

Not really much of a solution to salvage data that has already been stored and worked on.

I'm a bit surprised that this sort of issue hasn't been addressed / highlighted before as to be fair i had only been using our BLK for a day or so when this occurred so I'm sure other must be seeing similar issues.

Thanks again for continuing to follow up on this.

Hi @gavfoster,

Can you try to sync project data to ReCap Desktop application and try registering there to avoid this situation.

Thank you and have a great day!

Did anything changed since that time ?
Our client has about 200 registered scans and registration crashed.

It happened second time already.

I'm on Recap Pro 7 Desktop. The program crashes EVERYTIME I'm busy with registration.  My projects are normally small scan sets i.e. 11 - 25 scans.  Since I've installed Recap 7, I haven't been able to complete a single project during one registration run. It normally requires me to reboot my pc several times just to finish a registration.  The "solution" of re-importing and then redoing registration also fails. Please just the program.
