Recap Pro - Close Range Photogrammetry

Hello all,

I am new to Autodesk, a friend of mine used to use it and am curious about it's potential in 3D modeling for small items like Jewelry and Watches.

My questions below:

  • Is there a place I can view 3D models created by Autodesk Recap Pro for jewelry and watches?
  • Or do any forum members have examples?
  • If someone has experience with close range photogrammetry, how many pictures on average are needed for a good model? 20, 100?
  • How many different revolutions at different angles, 4 / 8?

Any help is appreciated,

thank you!

- Alex

Hey @alejandroSU2K4
It seems to me that using photogrammetry for jewelry is not correct.
You should look towards laser scanning and special laser scanners for jewelry.
For example
