A major highlight is the full integration of Pointfuse technology, providing customers with a complete end-to-end Scan-to-BIM solution.
Key New Features:
🔹 Segmented Mesh Generation – Quickly transform point clouds into structured, segmented mesh models for improved usability.
🔹 Mesh Editing in ReCap – Easily view, classify, and refine mesh models, organizing them into layers for a more efficient workflow.
🔹 Seamless Scan-to-Revit Workflows – Work with segmented mesh models directly in Revit, enabling better visualization, planning, and model creation from scan data.
🔹 Photo to 3D within ReCap Pro – Convert photos into detailed mesh models effortlessly, all within ReCap Pro.
🔹 ReCap Viewer Scan Groups – Organize and manage project scans with intuitive drag-and-drop grouping in the Project Browser or directly on the project canvas.
🔹 and many more….
ReCap 2026 represents a major leap forward in reality capture workflows for our customers with innovative segmented mesh. I can’t wait for you to experience these powerful new capabilities! 🚀
Here are some links to help you see and understand these key new features in action.
This workflow is designed to extract intelligent insights (like feature lines, segmented mesh, etc.) from large point cloud data, enabling more efficient integration into your design and modeling processes.
We sincerely appreciate customers like you for collaborating with us throughout the development cycle, sharing valuable feedback to help us better meet your needs. Your success is our priority, and we remain committed to delivering solutions that empower you. A heartfelt thank you for your contributions in making this release exceptional. This is just the beginning—we're excited to continue advancing this workflow together with you!
Hello, I have a problem completing the local processing to a mesh. I always get the error "The temporary worcspace directory doesnt exist or it cant be written in there" (In Greman: "Das angegebene temporäre Arbeitsbereichsverzeichnis existiert entweder nicht oder es kann nicht darin geschrieben werden."). I tryed several levekls of detail and with different pointclouds, but sill have no clue why this happends.
Hi @marlon_strahl ,
Can you please go into the preferences and change the Temporary File Location to a different location that has full read/write permissions, please?
Let me know if that works for you!
Yes that worked, thank you so much Mike.
@ramesh_sridharan Over on the What's New page it says:
"These smart meshes can also be leveraged in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Viewer model coordination, enabling faster clash detection and better coordination against real-world conditions, further improving design accuracy."
This is the part that specifically interests me.
Is there a video on what this ReCap (Mesh) to ACC for coordination workflow looks like?
Thanks.
@Chad-Smith WE will be adding more materials in the learning content web page. For now you can follow this workflow to work with mesh and export to NWC, then publish that to ACC for clash detection in model coordination.
