RECAP PHOTO - Stuck on uploading

Hi,

I have been conducting some photogrammetry using your software. However the other day they stopped uploading mid way through. I have tried all of the normal solutions found in the forums- updated, reinstalled, paused and restarted uploads, tried to upload again, tried different images, checked my storage,  and also attempted to view cloud credits (but as it’s educational I believe we don’t have these). I also used the contact form last week (Wednesday) and was told that I would hear back in two business days. 5 business days passed and I needed this resolved, so I used the online AI assistant, who couldn’t help, I then received an email to say that the case was closed - as I had used the online assistant. It said if I replied to the email they would reopen it. I did this, and subsequently received an automatic reply saying that I couldn’t reply to that email.

I also tried to Ed to look into the details of the cloud credits and usage terms; but found that this sent me round in circles.

When end I tried to activate and reinstall the programme, I was also sent in activation circles.

So far using the software has been extremely difficult, albeit when it works its very useful!

Please could someone offer offer some assistance as I am now getting to the point where it is easier to code this for myself rather than go round anymore circles.

Hi @rajanjagpal , I'm sorry to hear that you are running into so many issues with ReCap Photo. If you could share your Autodesk ID email address with me privately, I can help look into the issue.

Hi @rajanjagpal

Could I check if you are creating multiple 3D projects at the same time? Either by running multiple windows of ReCap Photo, or by creating projects while others are still uploading?

If so, you should be able to upload your photos more reliably by creating one project at a time. You may start creating your next project once the current one progresses to the "Waiting in queue" stage.

Hi @eugene.chua,

I was creating multiple projects at one time, none of these have progressed at all for the last 7days. There was 4 projects mid uploads (1 at 44%, 1 at 21% and 2 at around 7%, and some others still to start) none of these have moved since then, I also do not appear to have the partially uploaded projects visible anymore.

what are the limits to the upload process? And is it expected that I should be able to conduct multiple projects without restriction?

The upload process is limited by available computer resources and network bandwidth.

To get the most consistent upload behavior, I would recommend that you cancel projects that are still uploading on the dashboard, restart the application, and recreate the projects one-at-a-time.

If you require batch processing of your projects, and are comfortable with coding and scripting, you might want to take a look at the Forge Reality Capture API https://forge.autodesk.com/en/docs/reality-capture/v1/tutorials/create-3d-mesh-from-photos/
