photos not loading while stitching

So I've had this problem happening for some time. While trying to stitch photos together, the photos seems to load but gives me a big black area, even on photos that have loaded before and that have been stitched... Usually I have a work around, just by saving my progress of stiching photos. But I'm trying to change my work flow and stitching before i submit the project, and there is no way to save a project before "submitting." Anyone else having the same problems?
