Optimal method for quickly scanning a city using Recap

Please can you advise what tool can best be used to capture / scan as-built components (infrastructure) of a city in a way that enables subsequent modelling?

I would be happy to assist you, could you please provide more information on what you are trying to do? There are many scanners that gather point cloud data that are compatible with Autodesk Recap. 

With Recap Photo drones can be used to capture point cloud data as well.

I'm looking to scan a mid-sized city in as little time as possible. There'll be over 20,000 units at least and I'll be looking to get some information on:


Roof heights, Floor heights (above ground level), etc.


I'm aware of the drone option, not just sure, I can get these details from a drone scan.

Yes, the quickest way to do this would be via UAV Photogrammetry.

Following the best practices and designing a flight pattern that encompasses overlap and side views of the units will give you more holistic results. 

Additionally, please make sure you incorporate accurate coordinate systems.
