Tom:
The PC usage issue is definitely a tricky one. At any given time we're using a lot of CPU, a lot of RAM, and/or writing a lot to disk. Processing multiple scans are once can lead to issues if we use too much RAM or try write a lot to different areas on disk at the same time. Since we don't know how much of a system's resources a raw scan will require to process ahead of time, it is hard to keep each of these running at full tilt reliably. We hope to improve on this in the future.
Jason:
I have good news for you. It is possible to register new scans on a completed project. This can be done in two ways:
- Import new scans into an existing project (on the registration pane). Use manual registration to register each new scan to the existing project. This is the best approach if the new scans are not all contiguous.
- Create and register a second project consisting of the new scans (if the new scans all overlap). Then create a third project and drag the RCPs of the first two into it. In manual registration mode, each project will be listed as a group. Finally, find a pair of scans with overlap between the two projects and register them. Once registration is done, the actual scan data will still be with the old projects. To make a copy of all of the data, perform a "Save As".
Note that in both cases, you have to use our manual registration mode, as auto-registration will currently restart the registration process from the beginning. With the registration suggestions in our manual mode that were introduced in 2.0, however, manual registration is much faster than it was previously.
Let me know if either of you have further questions.
Thanks,
Michael
