Hello,

I am trying to view a laser scan in ReCap so it can then be attached into an Inventor file but it doesn't seem to be working. The files don't do anything when they are imported - only the basic grid appears - no scan. Not sure where to go or what information you need to help - been looking at the .

There are 14 folders in total.

Been looking at links spanning off of this page for too long and still can't figure it out: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015...

Hello,

Recap does not support importing ZIP folders. Please unzip and try again. From the images, it seems like you are using a very old version of Recap. There have been huge improvements to several features in the newer updates. I encourage you to upgrade to latest version.

Thanks,

Ashwini

Hi Ashwini,

unzipped them and achieved the same result. Thanks for noting the update, I'll look into one when I can find a minute. Unfortunately I can't attach one of the files since they're too big.

Can you post a picture of the folders resulting from the unzip. Are they all .fls files or do you have a folder for each scan?

If its the latter, the folder names should end with a .fls. Drag-drop those folders into a new project and it should work.

Here is an example of how it should look:

They are indeed .fls folders. Attached what is inside of one of the folders.

They look right to me.

Please try:

- Importing the 16460EnbrEdm_Tk5_AR001.fls file that is present inside the folder

- Drag-drop the entire .fls folder into a new project in Recap.

This should just work. I strongly suggest updating the software and trying with latest.
