Grid\view cube Alignment/ aligning point cloud for x,y,z

Does anyone know how to either rotate the point cloud to align with the x,y,z of the view cube in the upper right corner? Very new to this.

Hi from Spain, Stepheng.

The way to do that you want is:

1-Menu "display settings" -> "Points" -> "update origin".
2- Press "tab" (unless you want to update the origin point too).
3- Select a new Z axis direction or press enter if you don want to do this.
4- Select the X axis direction. Its important to select a PLANE not a point. The x direction is given by a normal vector, orthogonal to the surface that you choose.

Then your viewcube wil be alligned with this x-direction.
