Freezing on load screen after a project has been created, saying "loading edit cache"

After I have had made a project and I click Launch, it will open a blank model space with the spheres in the background and an icon saying "loading edit cache". I will wait and wait and nothing loads, so I have to force shutdown Recap and when I launch again, the project is all there. I just need to click the viewcube to bring it into view.

It is doing this on every project I create. Any ideas or solutions?

While I don't have a solution, I'm just chiming in to say that I also have this bug, and would like it fixed.

Hi @TanguyNed @chrismerrell ,

We are aware of this issue and currently working on a fix for it. We will provide the fix in a near future update. The current workaround would be to close ReCap and restart.

The reason stems from a component we added for licensing since the 2024 version whereby if we leave ReCap open for more than 4 hours, a token expires causing functions such as Launch Project, Publish, Scan to Mesh, and Post Registration to stall with the "Loading Edit Cache" wheel.

Thanking You and sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Warmest Regards,

We have fixed this issue in our first Beta for 2025.1.

You can find out more here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/recap-forum/recap-2025-1-beta-participation/td-p/12875077

It would be great if you had the chance to try it out.

Thanking You.

Hi Rishov,
If I grab the Beta, how will I know when the "real" version is released?

Hi @Pointdump ,

We are planning on the 2025.1 update around the first week of October (tentative). The update will come in terms of a service pack that needs to be applied over the 2025 installed product rather than the binaries.

The Beta 1 build just released will be active until 4 September 2024 after which you won't be able to use it anymore.

Thanking You.

Warmest Regards,

Rishov,
This is where Klarinda lost me:
...scroll down to "My Opportunities" and click on "Autodesk Infrastructure Futures"
I can't find "My Opportunities". Guess I'll have to wait for October.

Hi @Pointdump ,

Ah Okay looks like you haven't entered the opportunity yet.

Okay after logging into feedback.autodesk.com

1. Click on Opportunities under the Autodesk tab (Top left):

2. Find Autodesk Infrastructure Futures

3. After entering you can click on the Project drop down and find ReCap Builds:

Hope this works out! Sorry for the confusion.
