Greetings.
Describe your problem in detail. The pts format supports RGB dot color information. And when exporting, this information is written to a file:

Greetings @tomaz.pikovnikLEMYJ
Describe in detail which software are you exporting the point cloud from? Does this software have RGB dots?
The PTS file from your screenshot is the result of export from which program? Do you import the PTS into Recap? When importing, what does this table look like for you?

To use a point cloud in NawisWorks or Infraworks, you do not need to export the point cloud from ReCap. You need to download project rcp or rcs.

Hi tomaz,

Can I clarify if you are trying to import or export pts file?

ReCap is able to export point cloud into pts file with color.

I tried to open AutodeskReCapSampleProject, clip all other points except for the table, and export to pts. When I import the pts back to ReCap, the point cloud has color.

If you are trying to import pts file into ReCap, you can customize the setting.

Go to scan settings > options > then click on the column. There should be a drop down menu where you can specify what value is for the column.

From the screenshot that you sent, it seems that in ReCap, the points are all white. If the input scan does not have color, I believe if you export the project from ReCap to pts, the pts won't have any color. Can you double check on the input scan?

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Klarinda

I created .rcm file in ReCap Photo with photos and exported point cloud (.pts file), then I imported in ReCap Pro and  the color of points are not visible.

Hi Tomaz,

It's working for me.

I exported pts from ReCap Photo, and import the pts to ReCap Pro.

In the text options, please ensure that the last 3 columns are set to R, G, B.

If this doesn't work, may I know which ReCap Photo / ReCap Pro version do you use?

I am using version 22.0.

Rgds,

Klarinda

In the future, before submitting a Recap Photo project for processing, check the box to create an RCS point cloud. Then you don't have to do unnecessary RCM to PTS, PTS to RCP actions.

Check ReCap versions in Windows settings or in ReCap itself. On the skin shots, you can see the current versions.
