e57 row and column information lost after export from ReCap

After exporting a scan which contains scan locations and is not unified to e57 format, the resulting e57 file loses row and column information.

I'm using the latest version of Autodesk ReCap 4.0.0.28

Is there an option to include row and column information?

Why is this information lost each time?

Hello @dejan_skenderovic,

I had a similar issue with lost data.  In testing and talking to folks on this forum, it appears that non-registered scans will bring in the data, but there is an optimization that happens in the background with ReCap where it removes the data when it is registered outside of the data.  (This even happens when decimation is set to zero, etc.).  I was unable to go from Cyclone registration, through ReCap and keep the data.

Check to see if you find the same; a single scan station does have the information you are looking for.  We don't use columns and rows, so it may be a different situation.

Hope this helps you find an answer,

Kenny

Unfortunately this does not help.

Apparently ReCap should keep the row and column information during e57 exports since version 2.2. That's according to list of software updates.

We just need to find out where and why the data gets lost.

If this can't be solved, it will render some other, very popular workflows dead - like export of data from ReCap to Clearedge3d for example.

Sorry I wasn't able to help, Dejan.

Good luck!

Hello,

ReCap Pro has an option to export to E57 by preserving the structure information it. This is not available in the Free mode.

If you have ReCap Pro, Please select the "Complete" export option that is presented to you when you try to export to E57.
