Do I need RECAP PRO or does ULTIMATE work? Any other suggestions?

Hello and To Whom it May Concern:

I recently downloaded Recap 360
Ultimate thinking it would serve my needs to: import an xyz / .txt /
.csv point cloud that I generated from laser scanning and
stereogrammetry to edit, register, create meshes and add textures to
compare against each other, as well as create a final product video
"fly through" that would look good in a powerpoint presentation, but
it appears the 'Ultimate' version cannot do all of these things? Or am I missing something?

Regardless, these are necessary tasks for me to complete as a post-graduate researcher
at Southampton, so certainly looking for the best application to do all of this.

Also, as I understand it, in order to create a mesh
from a PC through RECAP PRO, you need to access an online cloud service to process? Any
way this could simply be done through a stand alone option much like
Agisoft's software does for photo processing? Will the PRO or drone
fly-through versions perform these tasks? If so, can I get those for
free for the next three years with an educational license, much like I
did for the 'Ultimate' version? I look forward to hearing more from anyone who knows.

Recap, the free desktop version will import and edit the cloud
The PRO (rebranded as Ultimate) version is needed if you need to register the cloud
From Recap you save a Recap Project.
For creating a Fly trough, you need Navisworks Simulate, and you need to attach the cloud. You also may attach other CAD models that can be rendered in Navisworks.

Ok that answers my questions for Editing and Registering, but how about for Ultimate's ability to create a mesh and add texture as I want to compare various Point Clouds generated from Laser, Photogrammetry and Sonar at those levels as well.

It would appear that function is not available to me in the Ultimate version.

Thank you for the tip about using "Navisworks Simulate". Is that free educational software as well? Other versions like with Recap that have other functions that could be restricted with just educational use?

Ok, Recap Ultimate does not exist any more. It's now called recap PRO.

The create mesh feature is part or the online application Recap Photo that creates a 3D mesh starting from jpg files. I'm not sure it is available it was available in Ultimate or PRO. To find the differences and the trial:

I don't know anything of educational version, but it is included in some product suites and also there is a 30-day trial of Manage, which can do everything that Simulate does and Clash Detection on top of that.
