Combine .pts scans into one pointcloud

Hello, Im using ReCap Pro Trial v.26.1 to merge my point clouds and generate a mesh.

Every video tutorial I see there is a "Registration" part where you select 3 points of you pointcloud, and they got aligned. But this Registration panel doesnt appear when I use the Recap.

Im using a Eagle scanner from 3DMakerpro, the scan file has to be processed using their software RayStudio. When the pointcloud appears in RayStudio, I exported the pointcloud as a .LAS file

I import the .LAS in RECAP PRO and I use "Update Origin" to center the cloud in one corner. Export this as a .pts file (based on a tutorial I saw on youtube), and then I repeat this process with the other 3 scans of the area.

Then I import the 4 scans in a new RECAP project, and when importing I just get directly to Lauch Project, I dont have the Registration part I see in another tutorials.

The registration is limited in the Trial version? or is some step im doing wrong.

Thank you

Hi,

the PTS files you are trying to register are are unstructured scans. According to Autodesk ReCap Help | Registering Unstructured Scans | Autodesk  "[...] you must already have at least one structured scan in your project [in order to register an unstructured scan]". Maybe you can try to do your registration with CloudCompare, and then import the registered point clouds in ReCap, if necessary.
