Can't open Recap Photo because of Update-Message

Hi,

 

I have a problem with ReCap Photo. The program will open but then  a dialog pops up asking me to download the newest version of the programm. Clicking "no" will close it right away. Clicking "yes" will open a browser window to the ReCap update page - but there is no recent update for ReCap photo! I have uninstalled ReCap and ReCap Photo, i have updated ReCap but nothing changes. This is pretty urgent as i really need ReCap Photo for a project and i cannot access my files!

hi @Anonymous,

 

This is caused by a recent (required) update for ReCap Pro. 

Please check control panel (add or remove programs) to see what version of ReCap Pro and ReCap Photo you have. 

Download the required updates here: ReCap downloads.

The latest updates are on the top, please download all of them and then apply. You need to from the bottom. If you have recently done a fresh install you will need to get them all. 

 

Starting with Autodesk ReCap Update v5.0.1.30 for v5.0.0.40

hi jayson,

 

i've already tried downloading the updates several times but when i open it i always get a windows error message that the related programm cant be found. i've seen that other users had the problem as well so i guess its not my computer.

 

i've tried usi8ng the update function in recap too but now it wont even open the update screen anymore - i only get a blank window (i've attached a screenshot).

hello,

same probleme here , that took me all the day to not succeed

I tried all the updates, I installed and desinstalled and reinstaled, but recap photo still ask me to update!

I have an educationnal license.. I am very lost

 

plz help

for crying out loud we wasted 2 hours (5 installs and clean ups) trying to get this to work in the class room and then gave up.

 

I hope AD realizes how broken their update / installer stuff is.

 

And I installed all ReCap Pro updates!

Download and install first the recap update

https://dds.autodesk.com/2019/RECAP/84CE60F8-66C9-424C-A42B-A9DABB0DC54F/ReCap_Update_v5.0.2.41_to_v5.0.3.58_x64.msp

 

then Download and install the photo update and select repair

ReCapPhoto_v19.0.0.38_to_v19.1.0.10_x64

from https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/recap/downloads

 

Then download and run the next photo updater

ReCapPhoto_v19.1.0.10_to_v19.1.1.2_x64

from https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/recap/downloads

 

Finally in the desktop notification app you can run the hot fix update

when I install or reisntall my software educationnal RecapPhoto,
I got that, see below..

That dont match all the updates 😞

I am sorry this did not work - I hoped my steps could be repeated on your side too.

 

the updater issues is really an embarrassing situation here 

 

I am stunned AD is not more over fixing this

hi @visit3d and @cekuhnen,

 

@visit3d's issue is that they are downloading the wrong base version of ReCap. The screenshot shows that they are running 18.2.0.8 ReCap 2019 would be 19.xxxx

 

Please download 2019 from your manage.autodesk.com account or go here: ReCap 2019 trial

 

the raw build for recap photo from 2019 is v19.0.0.38

 

You need to first download ReCap 2019 and then apply all the updates in order. You can't apply a 2019 hotfix to a 2018 version.

@jayson.sterba Oh I overlooked that.

 

But the fact stands that why do you not update the main installer so users do not have to go through this nightmare of updates which then half only work.

OK thank you very mutch, that works now.

Other point: I cant now download my objects directly, I must now browse 360.atodesk.com
it is very less friendly ( more long to do)

hi @visit3d,

 

You should be able to open directly from the ReCap photo UI as pictured on your screen. Try clicking the synch icon next to my cloud drive.

This is still a problem for me, wasting time.  No way to get it installed to run it.  Please help with a clear procedure or fix your installer.
