Introducing ReCap Pro 2022

What is included in Autodesk ReCap Pro 22.0.0?

New Features:

• Scan-to-mesh cloud service.
• Support project publishing and collaboration through Autodesk connected drive such as Autodesk Drive and Autodesk Docs (BIM 360) via Autodesk Desktop Connector.
• Support opening RealView of ReCap projects with ReCap viewer in Autodesk Drive and Autodesk Docs (BIM 360).
• Support multi-scan selection in project navigator.
• Support exporting panorama images of structured scans.
• Allow users to specify the unit type of the raw scan.
• Support exporting normal information in .pts / .e57 file format.
• Support importing normal information from e57 files.
• Project unit setting can be remembered as default project units and it is applied to applicable ReCap workflows.

Fixed the following issues:

• Improved stability when indexing large scans.
• Improved stability when importing scans.
• Improved stability when registering large number of scans.
• Improved stability when exporting to structured e57 files.
• Improved stability during project optimization.
• Fixed fractional inch display issue.
• Fixed issue that deleted points are still visible after project optimization.
• Corrected security vulnerabilities.

Improvements:

• Performance improvement on loading and editing project with regions.
• Performance improvement on project optimization.
• Improve rendering quality for large projects. More detailed information can be rendered now.
• Updated the .rcc / .rcs file search order to allow files in the same folder as the .rcp file load first.
• Upgraded the Geospatial Coordinate Systems library from 14.07 to 14.08.

What is included in ReCap Viewer?

New Features:

• ReCap Viewer is now integrated to Autodesk Drive and BIM 360 (Autodesk Docs). User can publish project using Autodesk Desktop Connector and view ReCap project in https://drive.autodesk.com/ and https://docs.b360.autodesk.com/.
• Support creating and editing annotations such as Note, Measurement, or Markup (only for annotations created via web interface)
• Support adding attachments
• Support creating and updating View State
• Support search among scans, annotations, and View States

What is included in Autodesk ReCap Photo 22.0.0?

New Features:

• Support creating new projects through Autodesk connected drive such as Autodesk Drive and Autodesk Docs.

Fixed the following issues:

• Remember user's choice of folder selection.
• Fixed issue that project cannot be deleted.
• Corrected security vulnerabilities.

Improvements:

• Upgraded the Geospatial Coordinate Systems library from 14.07 to 14.08.

• Cloud credit update: 
  • Cloud credit pricing is being updated for jobs processed with ReCap Photo. 
  • Cloud credit is also needed to run Scan to Mesh, a new cloud-based feature introduced in ReCap Pro 2022 that enables users to create textured meshes from their laser scan projects.

Installation instructions

You must have administrative privileges on your Microsoft® Windows® operating system to complete the installation process.

Installing Autodesk ReCap / Autodesk ReCap Pro on a single computer:

a. Via Autodesk management portal:

• If you are a subscribed user, log onto your Autodesk account at https://manage.autodesk.com/home/
• For single user installations:
  • Look for ReCap Pro in the list of All Products & Services
  • Expand ReCap Pro and click on 'Downloads' for 2022.
  • Select the preferred download method and language and follow the on-screen instructions.
• For deployments, click on 'Custom Install' and follow the on-screen instructions.

b. Via ReCap product download page:

• Browse to ReCap's product download page: http://www.autodesk.com/products/recap/free-trial
• Click on 'Download Free Trial' button and follow the on-screen instructions for the download

c. Using Autodesk Desktop App:

• If you have Autodesk Desktop App installed on the machine, it would show ReCap Pro 2022 available for download.
• Press the 'Install' button to install the latest ReCap version
