1 files will be ignored These files may exist in the project or have duplicate..

I have scanned a building and didn't have access to all of it at the same time. I now have two separate .rcp files for the same building. The main rcp file includes all floor except the basement and the second .rcp file is the basement. The rcp files were created by importing .E57 files.

I would like to combine the two separate .rcp files into one project and each time I attempt this I get the message"1 files will be ignored These files may exist in the project or have duplicate output file name.".

I have attempted to import one rcp into the other and also create a new blank project and import both sets of .rcp file, Each of these processes result in the same error. I guess the scans have the same name? Is there a way that I can simply rename them?

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for participating in our Community! You can open Main RCP file in ReCap desktop and then import RCS (these files will be in you project support folder) from basement project.

Or create new project and import RCS (these files will be in you project support folder) from Main project and Basement project and have one composite project.

Please, let me know if this helps.

Thank you and have a great day!

Same problem.

The RCS files in the main support folder are named the same as the rcs files in the basement support folder.

Can I just rename them in one of the folder?

Hi @Anonymous,

Please, open one of the project and try to Save as different name and try again. Let me know if that works.

Thank you and have a great day!

This has no effect on the names of the rcs files in both of the projects. The only way I can import one into another is to avoid any of the files rcs, diff, llt, rcc, temp16, temp27 or thumbnails is by avoiding having duplicate names. This means that I have to manually rename each of these files for each scan in one of the projects;-(

I have the exact same scenario.  Is there a quick fix to this?

No quick fix I’m afraid. I had to rename all the files in the support directory that had the same scan names. A very small oversight, a great deal of extra work.

Curses!

Ok, after you renamed, did the original hosting .rcp file still locate the renamed scans and maintain registration?

I have encountered a similar problem with duplicate file i indexed during scan registration. I tried renaming all similar file names in the Support Folder, but now its gives a message like Please wait while the selected scan import. Please advice on this.

After you renamed the scan in the project, it's better to close and reopen ReCap  so that some cache that uses the old name can be cleared.

This issue is annoying and frustrating, however there is a quick simple fix to rename only one file per scan project and combine.  All you need to do is go into the {"projectname".rcs} folder, then into the {"projectname" Support} folder and rename the "project.rcs" file to whatever you want - keeping the .rcs of course.  If you simply rename this one file and then import this file to your combined project you should be fine.  The issue is Recap will automatically name this file 'project.rcs' for every project it does rather than naming it the projects name - It would be very quick fix for the programmers to change this, but unfortunately until then we just have to rename that one file.  I hope this helps.
