Hello everyone,
This first release is an early version of our kitbashing workflow for quickly building 3D concepts from reusable parts directly in the browser. It is still evolving, so you may run into rough edges, missing workflows, or performance issues in some scenes.
We are sharing it now to learn from real use. Try it, break it, build something cool, and tell us what gets in your way. Your feedback will help shape where Project Falcon goes next. Go here to try it out for free: https://project-falcon.autodesk.com/
Current Known Issues
-
Tablets are not supported
Project Falcon is currently not supported on tablets, including iPad. -
Some browsers are not supported
Safari, Firefox, and browsers without full WebGPU support are not supported. For the best experience, use Google Chrome. -
Cloud Storage initialization can take some time
On the very first login to Project Falcon the cloud storage set up can take up to five minutes and the app might not be responsive during this time. -
Linux may need extra Google Chrome flags
On Linux, you may need to start Chrome with Vulkan enabled:
--enable-features=Vulkan --use-vulkan. For more information on WebGPU go here. -
Grouping is disabled in some tool modes
Grouping parts is currently disabled while using Mirror, Cutters, or Combine mode. -
Camera navigation can sometimes get stuck or feel unstable
In some scenes, viewport navigation may stop behaving correctly or become hard to control. Using Frame Selected (Keyboard short cut F) usually fixes it. -
On macOS: Caps Lock can block viewport interaction
In Chrome on macOS, pressing Caps Lock while the viewport is active can prevent orbiting or panning. Pressing Caps Lock restores interaction. -
Picking or snapping can be wrong after using the ViewCube
After switching views with the ViewCube, selecting or snapping parts may not line up correctly until you move the camera again. -
Combine operations may sometimes fail
Some combine or boolean actions may not complete correctly. Ungrouping a part can fix this problem in most cases. -
The part browser may slow down during long sessions
Browsing many part thumbnails can make the part browser feel slower over time. -
Right-click navigation can show the web browser menu
When using right mouse navigation, the browser context menu may appear if the mouse is released outside the viewport or over the part browser. -
Failed part loading may leave a box behind
If a part fails to load (e.g. loss of internet connection), a placeholder bounding box may stay visible in the scene. -
Saving action can show a delay
With large bashes after invoking the save action the progress indicator might not show up immediately
