Excel table prints with a black strip down 4 columns

I am using AutoCAD 2016 and printing to a kip. I've attempted printing into pdf and the file comes out fine but when I use the printer it comes out with a thick black strip through 4.5 of the columns. I attempted printing an old autocad file and that seemed to come out fine but when I printed a new blank template with only the excel file inserted it continued to have the strip down the excel table. I have checked through the settings for both the old and the new file and they appear to be the same. any idea what could be causing this?
