LT 2009 Activation problem

I suddenly can't get my version of LT 2009 to start. It says the version or serial number are out of date. I used it a couple of months ago.Any ideas out there? Thanks, Doug

Hi @Anonymous,

Unfortunately, that means your software is now expired, since 31st August 2019 Autodesk is no longer activating product versions 2010 and older: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/simplecontent/content/previous-version-support-change.html

So a software product purchased in good faith that I could continue to use, updates/upgrades notwithstanding, is now garbage? Now I have to buy some kind of annual subscription for a product I rarely use? I don't like it! For the record, it worked in 2020.

You didn't know this was coming?

What is your OS? if it's Win10, a Win10 update killed your old software most likely.

How is possible something to expire, when is perpetual? I'am sorry to say this..but autodesk is not a serious company.
I don't care if windows change someting...this is about a license....a perpetual license!! the way the license is verified is not my problem...is a autodesk problem!!

i'm really disappointed about this, people that buy this software was deceived!!!

Did you know that there is a difference between perpetual and permanent? If the conditions are being met to maintain perpetuity, you would still be able to use the software but most find those conditions outdated and not worth the effort.

What you don't care about is not of any concern here. It's about maintaining the appropriate computer environment so that you can retain perpetuity. If you did, then it could be an Autodesk problem but since you didn't, it is a personal issue.

Good luck!

No, my conditions are not outdated...i haven't change nothing for my payd software autodesk LT 2009, not even my OS, no even my monitor or mouse...guess what? the software just stop working, my question is why???? I didn't even now that autocad is verified by internet???

"............if you did, then it could be an Autodesk problem..........." I haven't change absolutely nothing on my pc for this problem...

So, autodesk must manage the license, not me....i don't care about the license...i need the software!!! License as to be verified by autodesk...not for the clients!!

thank you.

As noted in your other post... you can open a ticket with Licensing Support and confirm your options for sure here if you must hear it from Autodesk, be careful to listen closely to how they work helping you out if they choose to do so https://knowledge.autodesk.com/contact-support/installation-activation

Remember, no one here is Autodesk, no point in ranting or fussing, we can't do anything about it.

You haven't changed your hardware or operating system since 2008?

Because of the age of my product they will not activate it. I don't need to
use it enough to warrant buying an expensive subscription so I'll try to
find a good free CAD package for the little household projects I do. Any
ideas?

Thanks.

Yes

I've change´t in 2014 for windows 10...but it is fully funtional!! Until now!!! 🙂 what has changed in the meantime on my pc? nothing......absolutely nothing...........

I just want an explation, why suddenly my autocad lt 2009 want's an activation code since he was already instlalled and working just fine?

This is like i buy the windows and now suddenly i need to active't again! So Bill Gates tell's me that i need to pay him again a subscrition!! is this normal?? no it's not!!

This is normal in a company that deceives its customers. I'am very sorry to teel this....but i just feel cheated!!

Therefore, I advise all users not to buy or subscribe to any type of software from this company. Today the problem is this, tomorrow it will be another. They live on deception to customers.

Thank you.

You changed the OS. Even though it worked, that version is not designed for it. Yeah, it worked but at any update it could stop. I'm sure this is not the first time you had to reactivate. Guess what? This is the time for the OS to prevent you from using the program. Are you saying that you missed all the warnings that this day would come?

You can thank yourself for that. Autodesk did not take anything from you. You could still be using it but your actions have put you in this position. I saw the writing on the wall when support for my 2000 version and made the choice in favor of advancing technology knowing that my version would soon be outdated.

@RobDraw

So i should be gratefulm that's it?? 🙂 🙂

What advancing tecnology?? My autocad lt 2009 is enought for what i do.

So wen it happened to you, you didn't fell cheated? 🙂

Can i give you my iban?

Autodesk didn’t steal anything from me, it just didn’t provide me with everything that was necessary for me to install the software where i want it, if it doesn’t work, i agree that it isn’t an autodesk problem, but if it works and now requires activation, that is there concern. This profs that they purposely wanted to force former customers to subscribe to a new version.

This has a name, it's called harassment.

So

I am willing for anyone who shows an interest and is in the same situation to get together and consult a lawyer to see if there is a matter (which I think there is) to bring a case in court. This problem will generate high costs for my company.

Who's interested?

Brilliant! You're trying to drum up support for a lawsuit on their website! Someone else already did that and got nowhere. Too late, again, like you addressing your license issues. Your major hurdle here is that you could still be utilizing your license. Your financial loss is your own doing, not Autodesk. It's going to cost you more to fail in court.
