How to Activate 3ds max 2018

I have installed the software. The Product Licence Activation screen prompts me to activate the software. A Serial Number and Product Key screen requests numbers to be entered.
I do not have the serial number or product key.
When I log into my Autodesk account the Serial numbers page under 3ds Max says "just sign in"
I am signed in.
 
Please help me to complete the activation of my purchased software.

You have what's called a CLIC license or a cloud based license..  With these types of license there is no serial # issued to you.   When you get the option to sign in, enter serial #, or a network license you need to pick sign in.

Thank you for letting me know that I have a CLIC licence. I was not aware of this.

 

You might have to run me through activation step-by-step.

On the activation screen there is no sign-in option.

 

I have also tried to licence the product by going to Help > Autodesk Product Information > About 3ds Max > Product Licence Information. The Licence Manager (see attached) dialogue box has a field for entering a new serial licence but I do not have one.

There is no sing-in option here either.

Hello @simonVNB54,

 

Try reviewing this article Just Sign In process to verify you have properly signed in. You do not need to do anything else after you have signed in, just proceed to use the product, your Autodesk UserID should show up next to the blue profile icon.

Hi!

 

I am having an issue with my Max 2018 saying that I have an invalid license, which is not accurate.
If I press the option "Already have a License", nothing happens and I have to quit!

Any clue ?

In my case, it was NOT an identification cause:
I solved my issue by signing in with my serial number.
