Hi @PietBredell8116,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

AutoCAD LT 2009 was designed to run on Windows XP or Vista. It will not run on Windows 10. Here are the system requirements.

Perhaps you should install a Trial of current product to see how it performs for you.

Windows File Explorer Icons have nothing to do with whether your program crashes or not, just like whether a red car is more reliable than a white car.

Find out why your Windows session changed everything and reverse it: it was probably yesterday's WIn10 update.

Hi @habeason

I am happy that this has been working for you up to now but changed in the Operating  System Architecture as well as dependence on C++ and .NET Framework, means that you are putting your productivity at risk as evidenced by this recent incident.  Microsoft  controls these changes and not Autodesk.  So that means you have some choices to make:

  • Look at your Installed updates in your Windows Control panel and remove the most recent ones.
  • If that does not correct the behavior you see in AutoCAD, then you can rollback to your last Windows Restore point.
  • You can try to refresh your computer and reinstall your older AutoCAD but I suspect it will not allow you to install.
  • You could consider rebuilding computer with an older operating system that was capable of running your AutoCAD version properly.

The statement was that it is not supported if it works you are running on luck and with one or other update of Windows your luck might run out, it has nothing to do with it working now or not, it could just stop one day. If you have old software that was designed on an old OS then keep running on the old computer or be aware you might lose it all. And when that happens no one can help get it back.

@Anonymous See your other posts: trolling old posts and Autodesk employees that no longer work there is not going to change your reality. Sorry.

Time to move on friend.

Men, i fell realy bad about this.....so don't accuse me of not trying to get answers from anyone who can give me a valid reason (which I don't think exists).

The only place you can let Autodesk hear your voice is here https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

That's it. Nothing will happen. No one from Autodesk will call you. They gave you a reason in the link (aka they changed their mind, they can do that, and you can do nothing about it). Your license will not automagically work. You'll still be wasting time instead of finding another CAD solution to continue work and billing and living your life again.

The ship has sailed. You missed the boat. Life blows. Business is tough. Everything about this is totally unfair.

Move on friend. Move on.

Best wishes.

I used my AutoCAD LT 2009 software until July 2021.

RIP LT2009 - You were a good build.
