Hello
When Power Shape 2014R2 came out I really didn't like the way it forced the surface edge and material color to be the same. I just liked the visual effect of customizing these separately. I was going to copy and paste my old forum posts and all I went through with support trying to get that old behaviour back but I will save you all the reading. So finally I just gave up and said "OK" it's just the way it is now and I will live with it. After I downloaded and installed 2017 I just thought I would read through the powershape.con file and see if I could find anything interesting. Well guess what I found.
# Flag connected with syncing wireframe and material colour.
# By default this option is on but can be turned off by commenting
# in the option below.
#sync_wireframe_and_material_colour: false
# Further controls over syncing wireframe and material colour.
#cache_wireframe_and_material_colour: false
#skip_custom_material_in_sync: false
Uncommenting these two lines gave me back exactly what I wanted. I can't believe no one in support knew about this or was willing to take some time and do research to find an answer.
So this can help to someone else who would like to display there surface edge and material color separately.
Thanks, Mark

Thanks Mark. As you say, it's useful to know these little details.
Hey wait...
Now there is an option to disable it:
Options > Format > Levels and Styles > Single colour for line style and Material
Thanks Autodesk!
