You are right

Being able to specify a displacement value wether selecting a point / edge or face of the cage would be great.

At moment, values entered in the command box are ignored

Thanks for raising the good feature request regarding morphing by cage option. This will really help to great extent to many users while morphing by this option.. 

I have raised an change request for the above wish regarding ability to specify the exact displacement while morphing the surface in Autodesk PowerShape using a cage option.
