Deform surface around shape. (Insole design)

Hello,

Since OrthoModel has been eliminated from the lineup, I am trying to develop a work flow for designing an insole in PowerShape 2016.

What I would like to do is fill the PW Minor outline with a surface. Then drop the foot shape into this surface and have it deform around the foot shape. However, the surface needs to remain attached to the perimeter of the PW Minor outline. Is this possible?

Thank you.

Hello,

I am not really sure what exactly you like to do, but I think the only tool that you need to play around: Morph to Cloud/Mesh

I have attached a picture about my result, what is might not contain all of your requirements.

Regards,

Joe

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Autodesk Community and PowerSHAPE Forum!

I studied your requirement and tried to generate a surface in PowerSHAPE to design a insole for shoe.

Please go through following steps and create a surface in PowerSHAPE

1. Align the foot stl file and the PW Minor outline curve approximately using general Edits.

2. Create a surface at the bottom of the Foot STL touching approximately over etire foot from bottom.

3. Project the PW Minor outline curve onto this newly created bootom plane surafce.

4. Offset the projected curev by a certain value (say 8 mm) as per requirement.

5. Cut the bottom surface with the offseted curve.

6. Now generate a surface fillet beteen trimmed surface and PW Minor outline curve to form the insole profile.

7. You may need to reduce the point son the curve also few overlapping and close curves on the fillet to make it smooth.

I have created a video to show this procedure in PowerSHAPE. Please refer the video here.

Please accept as solution if my post fully resolves your issue, or reply with additional details if the problem persists.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

I just use Meshmixer, pm if you have any questions regarding that work flow.
