creating levels from components in the assembly tree

Hello,

im importing a full tool design stp file into powershape 2017, when it comes in there a assembly tree on the left side of the screen.

I have to activate each assembly in order to look at it. my question is can I move my components, assemblies, etc. to levels?

Also everything is one color I was also wanting the components to be editable or make them the proper colors they need to be.

any insight would be greatly appreciated.

best regards,

You can convert the assembly to geometry (see attached video).
