I have found several ways to input ptf files.

1- Drag an .ptf file to explorer.

2- Click the button load stratey file in Strategy Selector.

3- Click the File -- Import --- Template Project

4- Click the File -- Import --- Session

What is the difference between these methods?

What is the command to drag a ptf file into the resource manager.

Now, all I know is that different methods result in different names for tool paths. Some are numbers, some are names from the original ptf file

It is going to be the same as 3. Import Template Objects. Option 4, Sessions, will import calculated toolpaths and I just did a test where I renamed a session file as a .ptf and the imported toolpaths were not calculated. It also keeps the names of the entities where method 2 explicitly does not.

You can also prove this by trying to import a Drilling method ptf file. Only the button on the strategy selector works for that and the other methods will all error as Drilling Method .ptf's saved with the drilling method dialog are stored in a different format.

Final note, you don't have to drag the file onto the explorer window, just dragging anywhere onto the PowerMill window (aside from some minor exceptions) will behave the same.
