Toolpath strategy enhancement request

The Projected Surface is a great toolpath strategy on its own. The one thing I would like to be able to do with it is to add capabilities for toolpaths beyond raster toolpaths, such as radial or spiral.

Or, another alternative that would be really useful would be to add a Toward surface or From surface into the Tool Axis capabilities within Projection Line or Projection Point toolpath strategies. Right now many strategies offered for the Tool Axis alternatives to Vertical Line, Curve, and Point Tool axis capabilities. How about throwing a surface capability into the mix?

Another helpful alternative would be to add a surface normal option to the Lead/Lean options of Contact Normal and Preview Frame Normal.

I just created a toolpath using Projection Point using the Radial line option along with a Toward curve tool axis that worked well enough. If I could have used Lead/Lean with a surface normal option or toward surface tool axis option that would have been sweet.

Thanks developers!

Hi @Anonymous

The forum is a great place to ask for advice and "How to's" on programming techniques or writing custom script/macro's.

If you are looking for software enhancements like what you outlined, I suggest you create a case through your Autodesk account so that this is looked at by Autodesk staff.  Otherwise your requests will most likely be overlooked and will never go anywhere.

If you need information on how to do this, let me know.

Cheers,
