Is there a way to change existing tools in a project to a different stock material for future programs with creating another tool? Example, a part is cut in two different setups using pre heat treat feedrates. The part comes back from heattreat and we use the same tool with post heat treat feedrates. Do i need to create a new tool or can i update the existing tool with my post heat treat feed rates?
Save the same tool under a different stock material with your updated feeds and speeds.
I would suggest changing the name so you arent second guessing yourself that the tool being used has the correct speed for the task.

I don't beleive there is a way to change the stock material after the tool has already been loaded from the tool database. You will have to do as @Jonathan.Artiss-DSI mentioned.
I personally don't like using different stock materials. It is too easy to import a tool that doesn't have a speed/feed for the selected stock material. I use a different database for different materials.
