Tool Gouges after Toolpath is Finished

Hi does anyone else seem to have this problem? I'm simulating my project and for some reason for this chamfer feature, the tool wants to crash into my part after the toolpath is finished. What's supposed to happen is that the tool gets lifted into the safety center of box location, retract completely for a change in tooling, then the part is supposed to flip to start the machining of the reverse side of the part. For some reason the simulation reinserts the tool and lazily drags it into the part. If anyone has any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi @Anonymous

Does this occur when you're simulating the individual toolpath or the NC prgram?

If it's the NC program, I would expect a link move (blue dotted line) from the chamfer toolpath to the first toolpath on the underside.

PowerMill would not be able to simulate the switch in setups.

If I am on the wrong track here, please provide a video or sample project so we can have a closer look.

Thanks

Kind Regards

hi @craig.shipley

The issue only shows up during the NC program simulation. I took a look at the post-processed code and everything came out fine. As you said, it was the software not entirely understanding how to simulate a switch in set ups. Thanks!
