Powermill post library?

Powermill post library?

This feels silly to ask, but I will anyway...

Is there any library anywhere for Powermill posts? I'm on the hunt for a centroid / Fanuc M0 post to use in Powermill, but haven't been able to find anything to fit the bill.

Note the machining tasks we are trying to complete are very easy, and are currently done in Fusion, but its highly repetitive and the Fusion API has a long way to go to catch up with the automation capabilities of Powermill. Trying to make life a bit easier over here.

Thanks all -

Hi @Anonymous

When you install PowerMill, there is a list of generic 3 axis posts that are installed in the following directory.......

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Manufacturing Post Processor Utility 2021\Generic

There should be a post in there that will give you a good starting point.  I know there is a default Fanuc post that I would probably start with.  Now to edit these posts in my mind are much easier than Fusion posts since PowerMill relies on the AMPPU (Autodesk Manufacturing Post Processor Utility) for post creation/editing.

Double clicking on the post will open the AMPPU.

You can also reach out to your local Autodesk reseller for assistance with that.  Visit the Autodesk  Services Marketplace to find one in your region.  We here at SolidCAD can assist if you need it, just let us know.
