Hi @Anonymous ,

Thanks for posting in Autodesk Community!!!

The attached error message shows "Failed to enter the decoration editing mode. The Pattern contains no closed segments" in curve area clearance toolpath.  As I have seen your image, the created curve is incorrect for this strategy, because of an open segment. So you have to recreate a closed curve to fix the problem. Please try in your end and expect the provided solution may resolve the issue.

For additional information related to this thread, please feel free to reply. I will be glad to assist you. If my post answers your query, please click on 'Accept as Solution' button.

Note: I have a suggestion for you, please try to write the exact issue in the title box instead of writing Powermill 2018. So that it will be helpful for community users to find the topic of exact issue.

Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous ,

Thanks for your response. 2D Curve profile toolpath is applicable for an open segment but to create 2D curve area clearance you have to create a closed profile. Hope the information helps you to understand the difference between both strategies.

If my post answers your query, please click on 'Accept as Solution' button. Have a great day.
