NC Text Blocks

Hi Guys.

NC Texts blocks do not post with the programs, so I am assuming there is a setting somewhere in PMPOST that allows this to happen.

We want to be able to insert comments before/after toolpaths and even enter in manual lines of code from within powermill.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The way I use text blocks is as a PP Function.

I normally use Duct post but loaded a opt file into PM post to see if it works the same.

You call the Text block using the ppfun command within the post.

I took some screen shots to try and help.

I've added the PM post attachment to maybe help you further .

This post is designed to only out put a text file for info and has no machining.

Its the one that uses the most Nc text blocks

Hi,

We created NC program texts by using type of insert.

Never an issue with posting

i believe PP function is if you intend to pass variables to post processor for use with scripts, though i could be wrong.

This worked with older style duct posts and newer pmoptz posts

'Insert' type of command, can only insert in front of after toolpath. It won't allow you to do it in any other section, like in 'PROGRAM END' as shown below. This is why the pp functions are beneficial.  The simple example below instruct the CNC to part to the front of the machine when the program finishes.
