Mtd Simulation issue : Post processor is installed but cannot be configured

Hello,

We had to reinstall powermill on one of our workstation, since, we have an error when we import a MTD, we get this error : Post processor is installed but cannot be configured.

We didnt have this error before so I've tried to reinstal Powermill 2018 and PmPost multiple times, and it doesn't work.

We have another workstation and we dont have any issue

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

Alex

Does your mtd file have this at the beginning?

<machine xmlns="x-schema:PowermillMachineTool" POST="pmpMultiaxis.*">

Intel Core i9 13900KF CPU
128 GB Kingston Beast DDR4 SDRAM
PNY RTX A2000 6GB Video Card

Hi @Alex470,

Try checking the exact version of PowerMill and Post Processor you are using on your another system where it works properly. Update PowerMill and Post Processor to the same versions available on the working system and see if it resolve the problem?

Thanks and Regards,

Hi @Alex470,

Sorry to hear that you are still facing the problem importing the MTD file into PowerMill. Can you check whether this is happening only with specific MTD or all the MTD. Have you tried importing a simple 3axis machine MTD?

If you are facing this problem with all MTD files then can you try this,

  1. Un-install PowerMill 2018 along with PM Post Processor.
  2. Restart the system and login as an Administrator.
  3. Make sure User account control is set to lowest position.
  4. Reinstall PowerMill & (AMPPU) Autodesk Manufacturing Post Processor Utility ( Normally part of Autodesk PowerMILL install.)
  5. Update the installed PowerMill and AMPPU versions to the recent service patch available for them.

Let us know if you still face problem importing the MTD files into PowerMill.

Thanks for your time and co-operation.

Regards,

Hi,

So if i use the .mtd provided in the exemple folder it works because POST="pmpMultiaxis.*" is missing, as soon as I write POST="pmpMultiaxis.*" it stops working and I get an error.

I've uninstalled powermill by following the clean uninstall method provided by autodesk, then reinstall everything as administrator and it didnt work. Every time i did an update of PM or PMPost, I tried an mtd file with POST="pmpMultiaxis.*" and it didnt work.

Thanks

Hi @Alex470,

In this case, can you attached the MTD file you are using here so that I can have a look at it?
