Dear all,

Someone can help me?
What is the best option for a 5 axis machine, M128 or TCPM? The machine is with the Heidenhain 640 command, and if it helps, it is a Hurom Kx3 8five.

Thank you

Please do not consider this as an official endorsement from Autodesk in any way however personally speaking I prefer TCPM over M128.

The reason being is that using TCPM (AXIS SPAT) allows you to use the 3D-ROT functionality or probe cycles to align the part prior to 5-axis machining and the rotary axis move commands can be regular move commands (L).

M128 can be used after aligning the part however the rotary axis move commands have to be vectors (LN).

Here is a good YouTube link where Heidenhain show how to align a part and the different options for ensuring a good part alignment for different machining operations (3-axis, 3+2, 5-axis).

TCPM is what Hermle recommends as well.
