Link movement problem on 5 axis.

Our company has been using powermill software since 1999. We started using the Powermill ultimate software about 2 years ago on our 5 axis machines.
However, since we started using it, we have been experiencing major problems with the reliability of the program. There is an error in the toolpath validations. Crash validations are not working properly and therefore our machine crashed twice.
We talked to the authorized service of our country about this, but we could not get a clear result. My faulty projects continue, I want to talk to an authorized person about this issue. I think it would not be right to share the projects in the public environment. Respects.

Hello @galaxymak . I'm sorry to hear that you have experienced problems with the software. As a general advice, if you are not already doing so, on your 5-axis toolpaths use the Redistribute option for Point Distribution with a small Maximum Angular Separation, e.g. 0.5 degrees. On the Machine Tool page, choose a workplane that is aligned with rotary configuration of the machine tool, e.g. whose Z-axis is aligned with the C-axis of the machine. The tight angular separation will constrain the motion of the machine tool. An appropriate rotary configuration ensures that azimuth and elevation angles are considered appropriately.

I'd be happy to look at an example of one of your projects.

I hope this helps.

You also presented this kind of solution method in a case we opened when we had a problem. However, in a high quality program like powermill, we think that it would not be right to suggest that such a feature should be kept under constant control. I think you should adapt this method to the software with the help of a macro. We think that the point distributions should be activated automatically when the program is intervened with the 5Axis dynamic processing method, or that the program should not calculate without the point distribution angle within the specified values when the simultaneous program is to be calculated. We think that these and similar situations should not be left to the control of users. Can I ask for your e-mail address to share the sample project?

Thanks. I have the project. I take the point about ensuring better defaults. This is something we should improve.
