Large files which are made by PM 2019.0.0 can't be opened

Hi guys

I have a problem that some large projects can't be opened by PM 2019 but small projects are normal.
I made them by PM 2018 and PM 2019.0.0,but I can't open them by PM 2019.
Even I have updated PM 2019 to the version2019.1.2,it still crashed.

It only happens when enter a large file.
I don't know if anyone has ever encountered this situation.

You can download these projects from the links
COMPOSITE_9.75#_DOWN:https://drive.google.com/open?id=1tKe8u_fxUoyCH6PG15igh_-wTnsHmtx4
downiw2:https://drive.google.com/open?id=1aF6goGEbKb7_W-0qB4Ayp2v57oLAxfsC
"COMPOSITE_9.75#_DOWN" was made with PM 2018,and "downiw2" was made with PM 2019.0.0.
Please help me to find where is the problem.
Thanks a lot!

Best Regards
Chia

Hi @chia65PJM,

Thanks for raising your query onto Autodesk Forum.

I would like to inform you that the present customer release is Version: 2019.1.3.2019124. I would suggest you to upgrade to this service pack if you haven't done until now.

Also please find attached the recovered projects (without model in the project) supplied by you at the following links,

COMPOSITE_9.75#_DOWN.rar

downiw2.rar

Once you open the recovered project in PM Version: 2019.1.3.2019124, try to import the appropriate model/s for the project and save it.

There was a known issue of PowerMill freezing while opening the project created in initial build of PM  2019.0.0 which was then fixed in subsequent service patch. The problem was, model in some project created in PM 2019.0.0 freezes PM while opening. So I will suggest you to upgrade to PM Version: 2019.1.3.2019124 and try creating projects in this version.

Also please refer the AKN article for the reported issue, here

If this has been resolved, then please kindly mark this post as Accepted solution so that other community members having same issue can benefit from this.

Thanks and Regards,

PROJECT RESTORE

Is not a solution in this case because  RESTORE will try to read every pmlent file in the project directory. And as the pmlent file describing the model seams to be corrupted the result will be the same.   One solution is to delete the pmlent file, load the project and re-import the pmlmz file in the project to read back the geometry.

Step One : Detect the Geometry file in your project ( extension pmlmz )

Step Two : Delete the corresponding pmlent file (Same name but with the pmlent extension)Edit.jpg

Step Three : load the PMILL Project

Step Four : Import back the pmlmz file with a drag and drop

Step Five  : rename the Model to your original nameresult.jpg

You have also I think the solution used by @Chetan.Bankar .. Modify directly the pmlprj file

Modify the first line :

215 4 2019000 2019006 64 # Entity Index (DO NOT EDIT!)

into

214 4 2019000 2019006 64 # Entity Index (DO NOT EDIT!)

and supress the line where the Model is defined : seacrh in the text file the code pmlEntModel

Ie Supress the line :

xa0534b405c20976513cef2e500000000.pmlent pmlEntModel '#22845_10#_MO-3D'

But be careful such type of modification is only for advanced user and always make a copy of your original project before to try such type of modification  ( As it is specified in the first line DO NOT EDIT! 🙂 )
