Feature Request: Tool Extensions Tab

I know this is a longshot but, would it be possible to add a tool extensions tab on the tool settings page?  Currently anytime I use a tool with an extension I have to draw up the geometry of my extension in the shank tab.  I have all these tools, extensions and holders drawn up, ready for import but can't use them when my setup requires an extension.  An extensions tab between the shank and tool holder tab would take care of this and save a few minutes each time one has to create an extended tool.

If anyone has a workaround or tip please let me know.

i model what i need as a tool holder and save it, then when i need an extension i grab the holder/extension combo from my library. generally, I always keep my extensions the same distance out of my holders. in special cases i model a new one (and of course save it for future). this way i can keep the tool's shank saved with the tool. not an ideal solution, but i dont foresee powermill getting any additional bells & whistles. you might have a better time trying to convince the F360 devs of that one. Powermill will go away soon anyhow and we'll all be on that....

This is what I do, the extension is modeled as part of the holder. Then I just have to worry about changing the overhang. I just pick the holder from the toolholder database.

it would be nice to have that additional component, and to be able to dimension extension from holder, then tool from extension. @lokesh.kalia what can we do about that 😃😎😃

I'll take it up with my colleagues but I wouldn't want you to hold your breath on this one @TK.421

@lokesh.kalia I figured as much... How about doing something with that splash screen that holds every other window hostage while it's up? PowerShape as well... I would trade my first born to get rid of those two 😆

My thoughts exactly.  We're more of a high mix, low volume shop.  Constantly making tools specific to some weird part.

I agree that this should be in Powermill.

Recently, I developed a dedicated feature for a client to address this issue.
