Create Postprocessor

Create Postprocessor

Dear all,

as a part of my Bachelor Thesis, I need to create a *:PRIPost postprocessor (xml) for a Robot I implemented and simulated in Powermill.

The manufacturer of this certain robot is not listed in the PowerMill library, so I don't have any examples for postprocessors which I just need to edit.

The output needs to be ASCII and looks kind of similar to the output of an NC program postprocessed by the FANUC PP. So I thought about taking this one as reference.

Now my question:

Is there a software/or possibility where I can directly see the Output when making changes in the Postprocessor-File? Or maybe a software similar to "Post Processor Utility" (which only works for option files, as I know?).

Otherwise I always have to write the NC Program in Powermill to see, if the output is correct. Which won't work if the postprocessor is programmed incorrectly, I guess.

Hope you can help me!

Kind regards,

Timo

Look for DuctPost, its old version of postprocessor powermill program.

I did not yet check, but I preassumed that the tools which powermill is providing for PP development can only be limitted.

Therefore I thought about a different workflow, by simply converting a known robot output for my own robot controller. This way I can at least choose my favorite development tools - which should shorten the PP development time drastically.
