Good question, mine doesn't show up for nc programs, stock model and models as well
Hmm, mine shows up.
Really, this is showing up for you on 2018? I just screen shot this from the help menu, but this should show up for toolpaths, boundaries, models, feature sets, etc... I still have 2017 on my PC and it still works on there. I see that I'm not the only one with this issue so hopefully admin can chime in on this.
Brad
My bad, I thought you said user menue, that one is not working on mine either.
I've opened an internal fault report to allow us to investigate this issue (powermill#39874)
has anyone heard anything about this yet? I would like to start using 2018 but I will be sticking with 2017 until this problem is addressed.
If you want to test the new functionalities, you can begin, if you want to update your configuration for PM 2018, it could be a little bit early.
If you want to produce : WAIT !!! I've already seen some sever bugs.
Olivier
I am giving both powermill and powershape until at least one service pack, they went 3 steps backwards in my opinion. My left mouse button is almost worn out after playing with this for a little bit.
For the moment:
- Some projects freeze PM 2018 when opening them from the "recent" list.
- Menus containing special characters are completely messed up, I had to edit C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\PowerMill\ribbon_customisation.xml to be able to read my macros' names.
- No way to define customized icons for the macros, you have to find them in a completely messed up menu (see previous point).
- No way to define a custom toolbar outside of the ribbon.
- No way to resized these huge icons which are "eating" too much room (for instance, Autocad's ones are OK.
- No longer user menu coming with the RMB.
Most of them are linked to the UI, I agree, but if you use a lot of macros for your day to day business, then you will not be eficient with PM 2018 for the moment.
Olivier
The original reported issue of user menus not working has been resolved and will be in a service pack, hopefully the 1st one.
great news! thank you chris
Any word on when the 1st service pack will be released?
I installed SP ...03 : Updates

-> OK
- Menus containing special characters are completely messed up, I had to edit C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\PowerMill\ribbon_customisation.xml to be able to read my macros' names.
-> OK, reimport works fine !
- No way to define customized icons for the macros, you have to find them in a completely messed up menu (see previous point).
-> OK, reimport works fine !
- No way to define a custom toolbar outside of the ribbon.
-> Still open, and as you can read in this forum, your existing customers need that.
- No way to resized these huge icons which are "eating" too much room (for instance, Autocad's ones are OK.
-> Still open, and I'm not he only one asking for that.
- No longer user menu coming with the RMB.
-> OK
Good job with this SP !!!
But still a lot to do.
Olivier
Thanks for this release !
@NanchenO : I'm guessing you are using powermill in french, Are you able to select a Ncprogram, a Workplane or a MachineTool through the comboboxes in the Ncprogram tab ?
If I use powermill in English it's working, but not in french....
Sorry, I don't have access to your link (company policy ).
Could you please post a pic of which comboboxes you mean, because it doesn't seem that I have this problem (Windows 7 pro french).
Olivier
