Faro laser Scanner not working

Faro laser scanarm calibrates ok. I cannot get it to record any points. I am doing the following:

1. Create a point cloud group

2. Create Point-Cloud (This immediatly open up the XYZ window that normally starts to record points)

I press the green button on the faro but it does not want to record any points.

Welcome to the PowerInspect forum.

If you go to the machines tab and click on the probe icon does the active probe show as the LLP or tactile probe?

What arm and scanner are you using?

Also if you turn the sound on for your PC do you get any audible noise occur when you press the green button in the measure screen?

Thanks for the response.

The probe shows as an LLP. It also shows as Active.

We are using a Faro Arm Platinium with a  2008 Faro Scan Arm LLP.

Sound is on. We get an audible noise and result during caibration but not when trying to create a new point cloud in the measure screen.

Laser line is visible. Feedback on the range finder works and give a count but LLP does not take any points.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi David,

What connection protocol are you using? I would normally suggest "Faro Devices"

Also I can see on the range finder there are 602 points does this increase on the range finder window when you try to take points?
