Hi, I've add some more tips to your example, I've found your workflow was missing important bits. I've cover only lofts, and how you should proceed with them, I should talk more about curves sometime, but screencast is as it is. Sorry for voice record, but I don't have a mic.
Here is screencast:

Thankyou for the video. I'm a beginner and the problem I'm having is..

I build the outline of the guitar but I can not get the intersection command to work to break the outlines into segments that can be lofted.

Could someone explain how this is done? I've tried to follow and repeat the first example but no luck.'Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

I'll try to show you how I break sketches... please note that I disabled the Design History capturing (It seems my method doesn't work if is is enabled).

Maybe you can vote for my Idea for sketch cutting by means of a plane

For a correct lofting, please follow the michallach81 great videos.

Please ask if you need.

I've tried your method step by step a few dozen times and I can't get it to work. It seems to occur when I select the second shape and "include in 3d geometry" I lose the third shape, the spline along the offset plane. To get it to reappear I have to stop sketch. Then when I try to use the break command it doesn't work. I'm not sure what I'm missing but I've taken apart your video frame by frame. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Finally discovered the problem. Just as you noted this doesn't work unless you turn off capture desugn history in preferences. Now your example works great. Thank you.

Wow I just learned a lot from Michal's screencasts!  Wanted to mention a different lofting approach to a guitar top, that approaches it with a contour map, was used here:

Good luck!

Haven't tried Michal lofting for a while. It worked before but now with the new lofting dialogue box several selections aren't there and I can't get his methods to work. What;s up?

Lofting is such a basic easy to use tool in Solid Works but is difficult to use here. Also once a method is shown to work they change the loft box? I wish they would spend some time fixing this.

Try to play with all buttons on a new window, and you should be good.

Below three steps to get this job done.

Thanks for the update. I got it to work again, Is there a way to capture the history and still break the outline lines? If I go to include 3D geometry the spline lines on the offset planes disappear. They only show if I turn off the history. Thank you for all your help.

I've been away from fusion for a while. Have you found a way to breeak the curves with a spline and not turn off history?

Thanks

I think there is a better approach to this parametric Arching approach. Before I began using Fusion360 I used this method to create top and back plate arches and they never relay had the detail that the hand carved tops have. I have been using the Sculpt environment to achieve the desired effect. here is a video of my Fusion 360 design technique, and another of me cutting the top plate for and Archtop guitar style mandolin.
