What could be causing Autodesk Point Layout to fail to load?   See the attached image.

Previously, I was getting much the same error dialog caused by BIM360 Glue... I uninstalled it but now I am still getting the Autodesk Point Layout error.

Interesting one, it seems the settings configuration file for APL is corrupt in some way, never seen that happen before.  Delete the file mentioned in the point layout error picture you posted and it should solve the problem.  Feel free to send that file to me and I'll take a look at it and see if I can determine anything relevant from it, though chances are low.

Side effect will simply be that stored settings go back to defaults.

So that user.config file is definitely corrupt, only complete entry in it is from "Autodesk.Revit.UI.Collaborate.Views.CollaborationSWCDialog"

My best guess would be that the application shut down in the middle of writing out the file and this is very unlikely to reoccur.  If it does, you would want to open a support ticket under Revit as this is a shared settings file, so any plugin that stores user settings with Revit would  be affected (As you saw this affecting both Glue and APL).

Thanks,

Thanks Shayne.    I blew away the user.config file as you suggested.   Seems to run just fine now.
