APL Nested Points Breaking

I am having an issue with nested APL points losing their information when they are being nested. I have been testing this issue and have not had any success in fixing it, not sure if I am missing something or if this is a limitation of APL.

Example of the issue:

1. Create Family1 with an APL point

2. Nest Family1 in Family2

3. Load Family2 into project

4. Add Tags results in the nested APL points showing up as '?'

5. Modify->Filter does not show any of the '?' points even though they have descriptions added in Family1

Additional example:

1. Create Family1 with APL point

2. Nest Family1 in Family2

3. Add Tags in Family2

3a. Modify->Filter still does not show anything, but the GTP data is populated in Properties (e.g. GTP_PointNumber_0 is '5000')

4. Load Family2 into project

5. Add Tags results will tag with the point number assigned in Family2, but the number is unable to be changed (e.g. it will always be '5000' and does not show up in Modify->Filter and is not affected by using Renumber)

I've tried testing this in multiple projects with the same results. I am often creating families that have multiple nested layers with arrays that APL points need to be a part of. Is there any way to nest APL points in families without having this issue?

Most likely you need to use the "Point Nesting" function on the APL ribbon.  When you add points into a family, it creates the necessary parameters and links for that family.  However when you then add that family into another, you need to hit that button in order for it to create the proper behind the scenes connections.  You can nest as deeply as you want, as long as you hit that Point Nesting button at each level.

So work flow would be:

Add point to Family A.

Add Family A to Family B

Press Point nesting

Add Family B to Family C

Press Point nesting

etc....... as many levels as you want

Note that pressing the Point Nesting will not hurt anything if already done or is not needed, so if you are unsure you previously did it there is not problem hitting it again.

Additionally use the Cleanup button to clear out those connections/parameters/links if they are no longer needed due to deleting a point or a family that had a point.
