If I upgrade my Revit 2016 ongoing project files to Revit 2017..

…and next year I suddenly cannot afford to continue to pay for subscription, what happens then? How can I then continue to work? I have installed and activated Revit 2017 but I do not dare to start using it..

I don't believe you'd be able to be able to open them. If you have 2016 you might be able to. I don't know the compatibility path for Revit.

What can I do? Is it possible to convert the licenses (I have 6 network licenses) to network Perpetual Licenses? - actually I don't need network licenses (and I think the network license manager is a yearly pain to update) so standalone licenses would be fine.

You can't buy perpetual licenses of just Revit anymore. You'd have to buy whatever Suite has Revit in it. I don't think there is any remedy but try talking to your reseller.

Hi Joakim,

If I understand the situation correctly, you have 6 subscriptions to Revit (that is, 6 subscriptions with single-user access.)  As a subscriber, you can access the latest version, or you can access an eligible previous version (which includes Revit 2016). If you choose to not renew your subscription, you will ultimately lose access to all versions that were available to you as a subscriber (so upgrading to 2017 or sticking with 2016 is not the key question here). 

If you choose to not renew, there are, however, some viewers that may be useful if your subscription expires but I am not sure how well they support Revit.

You cannot convert a subscription license to a perpetual license, and you can no longer purchase a perpetual license of just Revit (we are continuing to sell perpetual licenses of our Suites - such as Building Design Suite, which includes perpetual Revit -  until July 31, if that's of interest.)   As a side note, after July 31st, we will be selling the higher-value AEC industry collection, which you can read about here.
