Square Footage Differs from Revit Model

Just getting into the new version of Insight (Total Carbon Analysis) for the first time, having been using the older Insight version for a while. (Sidebar question: Is there a step-by-step tutorial out there that illustrates the appropriate workflow? Having a hard time understanding if what I am doing is remotely correct and haven't found a solid tutorial resource yet.)

The Overview Dashboard is showing a pretty large difference between the actual modeled SF of the building and what is apparently being calculated by the Analytical Model. Actual modeled SF is 8000+ and the Dashboard is saying 5,820 SF. The hover over info says something about a PeopleNumber greater than zero. I have no idea what that means, but guessing that's where the difference is occurring. Anyone have any pointers on how to adjust that number so I can sync up these square footage numbers?

Thanks!

Hi @zwilson79H5F ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community forum!

Here’s a step-by-step guide that shows the entire end-to-end workflow from Revit to Insight.

Regarding the square footage discrepancy you're seeing between Revit and Insight, you can check the occupancy load in the Revit property panel after selecting a space from the Analytical Space view.

The screenshots provided will show you how to identify the Occupancy Loads assigned to your spaces and adjust them if necessary. This should help address the discrepancy you're experiencing.

If you need further assistance, feel free to let us know!

Cheers,

Giuseppe
