Strange geometry after generating component in Lattice comander

After I generate the component in the lattice commander, I get an extremely coarse surface finish:

This is the original component I imported from Fusion 360.

Hello, @jtomasd,

This is the expected result, if admittedly not the prettiest in places. Mesh generation here is done via marching-cube-style, rastering and replicating from discrete shapes the lattice and skin definition set up in a component. While this generates nice and regular meshes, if in places unnecessarily finely resolved, it also means any original shapes tend to become heavily aliased in the result.

I recommend replacing the aliased outer shell with the original. Here is what I mean with that: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/netfabb-forum/issues-while-generating-skin-in-lattice-commander/m-p/9...

If you have multiple outer shells, and/or if you have open volumes of lattice, you may need to do this multiple times and possibly do some manual merging using Boolean or repair (see "Wrap").

Best regards,

Steffen
