Problem with the lattice structure

Hello everybody,

 I have a problem with the creation of lattice strucutres.

Step 1) I create a skin of 3mm to my component;

Step 2) Then i generate a lattice structure;

Step 3) When I create the new object (I selected trim on mesh) the struts penetrate in the wall;

This is a problem? I attach a pic of the final result

Hello, @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Netfabb forum!

This looks correct to me. After all, you're looking at the inside (the solid portion, the material) of the model in that view. The lattice beams transition into the inner wall surface as expected to form a continuous surface. It would be a problem if they just stopped dead in contact with the part surface without actually connecting, given the requirement of triangle meshes not being allowed to have self-intersections or non-(two)-manifold edges.

Best regards,

Steffen
