No option for bidirectional/alternating hatching for Simple Hatching in Netfabb 2023

Simple hatching does not have an option for hatching that alternates. I do not know why this is. The other filling settings, stripe and quad hatching, do have a checkbox for "unidirectional hatching". Am I missing something?

The knowledge network post for simple hatching does include a setting called "unidirectional hatching" which does not exist for me in Netfabb Premium 2023.

Hello, @gg580,

Welcome to the Netfabb forum!

There are several things at play here.

The function you are looking for, zig-zagging hatches in Slicing, is there, it is just labeled incorrectly. (Alternating hatch cycles) This mislabeling is projected to be fixed in future releases.

You are looking at documentation for a different type of slicing in Netfabb, namely the XML toolpath generation for the powderbed machines. The right documentation for the simple hatching function you are looking at would be https://help.autodesk.com/view/NETF/2023/ENU/?guid=GUID-43899B75-4156-4E55-83E6-AB2E2548EDF8#GUID-43.... (Additionally, you are looking at the Netfabb 2022 documentation while using Netfabb 2023, but in this case this doesn't make a difference. Just pointing that out.)

Best regards,

Steffen

This is fixed with the 2023.1 update. The naming of the switch is now correct.
